Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) as a part-time (15 hours/week) admissions representative at Southside Academy Charter School in Syracuse, NY. This position will report directly to the admissions manager and will be responsible for filling available seats at the assigned school and creating a robust waiting list of students interested in enrolling at the school. This role will work out of the school in conjunction with the corporate headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI.

In this role you will work out of our corporate headquarters (Service Center) located in Grand Rapids, Michigan but will be located in and around the community of Southside Academy. The NHA Service Center is where all the behind-the-scenes magic happens. Our 400 brilliant team members are brag-worthy. With a diverse group of departments like admissions, talent acquisition, facilities, legal services, and many more working together to provide top level back-office support.

Your Role

  • Develop, manage and execute an overall strategy, ensuring enrollment goal success at the assigned school
  • Build and cultivate relationships with community leaders, faith-based community leaders and other key stakeholders in the community served by the school, including organizations that serve diverse populations
  • Represent the school at key community events, recruitment fairs and other community outreach events that will benefit enrollment
  • Distribute marketing materials to community partners and schedule information meetings at their site
  • Work with school leaders and admissions manager in planning school-based open houses, enrollment information meetings, and other school-based recruitment events
  • Train, collaborate with and ensure accountability for school-based staff for recruitment activities
  • Routinely reach-out to prospective and newly accepted families to keep them engaged, excited and informed about the school
  • Track and analyze all data regarding student recruitment benchmarks and goals



  • Associates degree in sales, marketing or business
  • Preferred experience with recruitment-related work within a school or similar field
  • Preferred experience focused on community involvement by acting as a liaison and establishing/building partnerships  
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel between the school and the community
